I find it funny...
...the difference in the level of advertising of a not-so-well-known game vs a widely known and popular game XD I had to manually search to find Halo 3 after hearing about it online versus seeing Clash of Heroes advertised everywhere on the Xbox dashboard.
And please don't get me wrong I LOVE Clash of Heroes and this promotion in general, but I find the advertising a little silly XD

Honestly, any time I see something advertised (website ads and TV commercials for example), I don't think "Woah, I need this!" I think, "Ugh go away!"
But maybe that's just me

: For me, it depends on what is being advertised.
A book or a game I might like being advertised can make me look it up and consider whether it is worth buying.
Car insurance adverts/bank adverts/PPI claim back company adverts make me slowly die inside from boredom.
Hoovers, paintbrushes and exercise regimen adverts? They can burn in Hell because you'd rather hit your head off a wall than see them because it usually means that your show has ended and one of the few things that are left on includes Teleshopping which can repeat itself for hours.

: I basically ignore all advertisements unless it's something I'm actually excited about (like Amazon advertising Mewtwo plushies because I stared at them...a lot XD) or TV shows and stuff. But mostly I've heard about this stuff NOT from advertisements so for me at least, it's ineffective advertising XD

...what is the "free Game with Gold" you speak of? .-.
October 24th, 2013, 9:51 pm
: If you have Xbox Live (Gold) you can get 2 free games a month (one available for the first half of the month, the other available for the second half of the month). Right now Halo 3 is free!

Only 2 free games?
Well, I'd rather have Halo 3 than anything that's free for PS Plus right now.

What's especially annoying is when you're watching through a bunch of stuff on a video service other than YouTube. YouTube has enough ads that they don't repeat themselves *too* often, but other places only have one or two ads that basically repeat ad nauseum at the end of every single episode you watch ever. Sometimes in the middle of the episode, too, if it's an especially long one. Oh, and they never have a skip button.
At least they aren't playing the American Airlines ads with the "sexy" spanish guy in a burrito anymore.

@spudwalt: I know what you mean! If you're gonna force people to watch ads, at least have multiple (actually, Hulu use to have an interesting system where you could pick which ad you wanted to watch, that was kinda nice)

Which is pretty surprising considering "Master Chief, you mind telling me what you're doing on that ship?""Sir, finishing this fight."*credits*

Um... Y'know ya shouldn't accept free stuff from offers... Mah BFF's mother got a free umbrella and within two days it upturned like in a thunderstorm. Lesson learnt.
